College Description/Overview

Prairie State College (PSC) is a richly diverse community college dedicated to providing quality education and programs to more than 230,000 members of our community through both credit and non-credit courses. PSC offers transfer and career programs, adult education, and workforce development. The PSC Foundation offers many scholarship opportunities. Through our strategic plan, we continue focusing on the needs of the community and enhancing the success of our students. PSC offers convenient scheduling and an accessible education to residents of our district. We provide students with the tools for classroom success and the environment to explore a variety of courses. Our dedicated faculty are committed to providing a quality education through learning communities and honor classes. Many of our students spend the first two years at PSC and transfer to a four year institution for their bachelor’s degree. The college serves as a cultural hub for the area with the Christopher Art Gallery and one of the largest jazz concerts in the area, the annual Jazz Fest. The college offers an array of opportunities for student involvement with many clubs, athletic teams, and PTK Honor Society.
