College Description/Overview:

Saint Xavier University, founded in 1846 by the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas who continue to sponsor the University through the Conference for Mercy Higher Education, is a four-year, coeducational, independent, Catholic university offering bachelor's and master's degrees to a diverse population of nearly 5,000 students. Its 74-acre Chicago campus is in a residential neighborhood, while its 35-acre Orland Park campus is surrounded by natural wetlands. Saint Xavier has organizations that encompass academic, artistic, social and athletic activities, and continues to rank in the top 25 percent of best colleges in the Midwest by U.S. News and World Report. Saint Xavier offers 38 undergraduate majors and 25 graduate program options in the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Education, the School of Nursing, the Graham School of Management and the School for Continuing and Professional Studies.
